Good news for all Chempark customers: Conneqtive’s nationwide high-performance LoRaWAN network is coming—and it offers countless new opportunities and solutions in the field of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
Safe, sustainable, and efficient—these are just a few of the requirements that chemical parks must meet. From an economic standpoint, this can only be achieved by digitizing analog processes and continuously optimizing digital processes. Conneqtive offers customized solutions for this purpose using networked sensor technology.
With the new LoRaWAN—short for “Long Range Wide Area Network”—Conneqtive is now establishing a comprehensive IIoT infrastructure at the Chempark sites in Leverkusen, Dormagen, and Krefeld-Uerdingen. This is a wireless network capable of managing hundreds of thousands of sensors. The devices, with a range of up to 10 km, can also be installed in hard-to-reach locations. Thanks to their low energy consumption, they can transmit data packets for up to 10 years on a single battery. Ideal for applications in critical infrastructure. At the Chempark sites, these process automation solutions are used, for example, in intelligent steam temperature management, remote well monitoring, and smart water meters.

“While we’re not offering the first network of this kind at Chempark,” explains Conneqtive Director Michael Franz, “we are offering the first one that can be provided as a comprehensive, integrated service to all Chempark customers.” The benefit for customers: They subscribe to a network with an uptime guarantee. Conneqtive LoRaWAN will be part of a modular end-to-end offering. For Tobias Tullius, Head of Sales, this means: “In the future, Conneqtive can be the partner for the entire IIoT chain—from sensor technology and data visualization in dashboards all the way to predictive maintenance.”
